Accessing Education Funding: A webinar for new entrants to Higher Education.

4th November 2024.
The Office for Students regulate Higher Education Providers’ access to public funding here in the UK, and in this webinar, we demystify how your institution might comply with the application and ongoing monitoring frameworks they operate.

On 4 November 2024, The Harding Hub’s Chief Technology and Information Officer, Oliver Sussat, was joined by Clare Roberts ACA and Elena Potter FCCA of CUE Finance Limited for an insightful webinar aimed at newly established Higher Education Institutions. Hosted by Independent Higher Education (IHE), the session focused on guiding emerging providers through the regulatory finance requirements set by the Office for Students (OfS), and offered practical advice on accessing public funding and fulfilling ongoing reporting obligations.

Run for members of IHE’s Launchpad programme, during the webinar the panel explored:

  • Application Process: Step-by-step guidance on how to apply for OfS registration and gain eligibility for public funding.
  • Regulatory Responsibilities: Key financial reporting timelines and documentation required to maintain good standing with the OfS.
  • Long-Term Compliance: Best practices for ongoing governance, financial sustainability, and efficient reporting processes.

Speaking after the webinar, Oliver Sussat remarked, “Our goal is to demystify the OfS requirements for new institutions and help them understand the essential steps required to demonstrate sustainability and secure public funding. By collaborating with experts like Clare and Elena from CUE Finance Limited, we provided attendees with clear, actionable insights.”

The Harding Hub extends its sincere thanks to everyone who participated and to Independent Higher Education for providing a platform to reach a broad audience of up-and-coming education providers.
