In the UK, mental health issues are widespread with approximately 1 in 4 people experiencing a mental health problem each year. We’ve set ourselves a fundraising target of £2,000 and on hitting it Harding will top up our efforts by £500 and we have a diary of exciting activities and events planned for the year.
This is particularly poignant for the team at Harding Hub, as we partner with Tend VR, who have developed a scalable way to deliver Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). Tend VR is focused on improving mental wellbeing using immersive technologies. Its mission is to provide people with the tools and techniques to help enhance their mental wellbeing, particularly through MBCT. Raising money for Mind feels like a wonderful opportunity to align our charitable focus with our businesses.
During the month of March, we’re promoting ‘Mindful Minutes’ across the team at Harding. Mindful minutes are the solution for disconnection. Whether it be taking some time to focus on your breathing, eating a meal mindfully, practicing yoga or having walk in nature (with no phone or distractions), the benefits of taking a few minutes to focus on relaxation should not be underestimated. Mindfulness can help you understand your emotions better, feel calmer, boost attention and concentration and improve relationships.
Throughout March we’ll be encouraging the team to engage in taking more lunchtime walks and allocating some quiet time each day for mindfulness! We’ll also be sharing mindfulness tips and techniques to help the team to reap the benefits of this amazing Buddhist practice.
Week Commencing 12th May 2025 is Mental Health Awareness Week; during this week we will be hosting a Spring Awakening Wellness Retreat for our clients and friends of Harding, to raise more vital money for Mind. Tickets for the event can be purchased through us, and proceeds will all go towards our fund raising for 2025.
